Shoe Design Contest by Sintratec

Deadline for model submission is February 6th

Swiss company Sintratec has developed particular know-how on SLS 3D printing for footwear applications. 3D printing has become a great way to bring some of the most fascinating shoe designs to life – in ways that would not be possible with conventional methods. Dozens of show designers are now turning to 3D printing to bring their creations to life, especially in light of the fact that 3D printing can be used in the footwear production workflow and even for final footwear parts such as midsoles, insoles and uppers. If you have a unique idea for footwear but no access to industrial 3D printers, the Sintratec Shoe Design Contest may be the ideal opportunity for you.

The Shoe Design Contest submission deadline is February 6th, 2022. After that date, 3 Winners will be picked based on creativity, functionality and uniqueness of their design. Only 1 shoe design per person (max. 21MB, STL files only, no ZIP folders). The design must be a proprietary creation (not from third-party websites). It must of course not infringe any copyrights or personal rights.

The length of the shoe must not exceed 290 mm to ensure the best printing quality. Height and width of the shoe must not exceed 130 mm. Only one shoe model will be printed per winner – not a pair. All submitted shoes may be 3D printed and used by Sintratec for marketing purposes (the designs will be treated confidentially).

Since it was founded, Sintratec has made significant progress on its benchtop SLS technology, supported in part by investments by SLS market leader EOS via the AM Ventures technology fund. Starting with a self-assembly kit, costing below $5,000, the company developed the Sintratec S2, an all-in-one solution, consisting of the Laser Sintering Station (LSS), the Material Core Unit (MCU) and the Material Handling Station (MHS).
