What’s better than receiving something for free? Everybody loves free, especially when it’s something of value. Well if you’re from the UK, and share a love for summer music festivals, then you’re in for quite a treat!
Thanks to Skiddle 10,000 customers are going to feel very fortunate. Skiddle knows that the weather can dramatically affect the turnout of an event that is outside. Especially because last year’s music festival was a washout. Skiddle came up with a solution to help keep mud off their customer’s feet; the world’s first on site 3D printing service for creating custom rain boots.
Using 5 brand new MakerBot Z18 3D printers, they believe they will be able to produce custom boots in a matter of 30 minutes. The boots will be free to the first 10,000 customers who will be able to order them will listening to their favorite bands at the festival. Boots like these could eventually be featured on 3DShoes.com for customers to purchase. The exact process of the boot’s production is not fully revealed, but they will be fabricated with 3D printed ABS thermoplastic, along with PVC and will come in only bright yellow.
