The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) from Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding with Wiivv. Through this partnership, they will try to develop 3D printed biometric insoles. Wiivv shows us how a new business should be, by riding on market trends. This includes mass customization and building personalized and highly desirable solutions with the help of artificial intelligence and 3D printing. Wiivv was founded back in 2014 and focuses on developing additively manufactured footwear and apparel. After raising over $3.5 million in 2015 for its BASE 3D printed insoles, Wiivv released a scanning app to customize footwear products. After that Wiivv launched a Kickstarter campaign to create 3D printed sandals. Working with NAMIC, Wiivv will begin to develop a new generation of customized insoles designed to enhance performance. Last year 3D printing visited the 4th edition of NAMIC summit, which displayed emerging applications for additive manufacturing. I believe this partnership could really show us some great innovations in the future.
