Vecchio Medici- Provider of the highest quality luxury shoe line for men and women; Preserver of traditional Spanish craftsmanship.

Handmade shoes are a celebration beyond fashion, and one about people.

A blend of history and contemporary finesse.

Vecchio Medici’s approach is to blend quality, technology, heritage, and philosophy to carefully craft handmade shoes elevated to the degree of a fine art that each unit is like a masterpiece to be cherished over the ages.

More than casual footwear, they are articles of investment one can wear that are a treat to behold. But there’s more. What sets the company apart is the  way we use our technology: Vecchio Medici utilizes its own 3D platform to make the customer a part of our crafting process.

.

.

.

Vecchio Medici’s 3D Augmented Reality Footwear Platform:

Vecchio Medici allows the customer to be a part of an alive and well tradition of Spanish craftsmanship. The customer gets to create their own footwear on the Vecchio Medici platform that allows them to choose from 72 billion possible variants.

The beauty of our process aside from the custom 3D platform is that with all the possible variants to choose from the customer is bound to have a one of a kind unique pair of shoes. Meaning, that the shoes they created has a majority chance of being the only design in existence.

The Vecchio Medici Experience:

How does our custom platform work? We’ll shoe you! (PUN!)

The first step is picking the shoe model you wish to design whether that be slippers, loafers, brogues, military boots, chukkas, or many other models in our selection!

Over 20 Models
Over 20 Models

For this example we picked Loafers (bottom left corner)!

The second step would be to pick the shoe last (the cut of the shoe), which is either a Monti (a square toe) or a Zurigo (a round toe)

Zurigo or Monti?
Zurigo or Monti?

This is where our platform wows the crowd! Once the designer chooses the Lasts of the shoes they will be directed to our 3D custom platform, which will allow them to pick their fabrics, colors, and sole units! (The third step)

(Video example below)

(Materials Chosen: Tweed fabric, box calf leather for tassel and back, hand painted red bottom, and beige insole)

The fourth step is confirming the specifications and submitting the design!

Ah! The fifth and final step where Vecchio Medici customers will put in their size, width, billing and shipping information!

Once the Vecchio Medici customer designs their unique shoes we then go ahead and hand make them in Spain!

The custom platform is very user friendly. The platform is effortless to use and it recognizes first time users, which allows for a very simple interactive walk through of the designing process!

You may be asking how that shoes that we designed came out of the crafting process?

Here they are!

If a Vecchio Medici customer likes their design and would like to share it with others they will be able to name the shoes, Vecchio Medici will go ahead and take professional photos of the shoes (like you see above), and then the shoes will be posted on the Vecchio Medici e-commerce website!

Our Craftsmanship Process

Quality of materials (like leather), country of origin, experience and expertise of the makers, and all other factors are individually important. Vecchio Medici, makers of timeless dress shoes, strives to obtain only the finest quality materials at all times. Then it comes down to shoe construction.

A Massachusetts native, Lyman Reed Blake invented the process called Blake Stitching way back in 1856 as a method to simplify and streamline shoe construction. Shoe manufacturers immediately recognized the sleek, elegant lines made possible by Blake stitching, and today it remains one of the most popular techniques in fashionable shoemaking.

Clean and simple, the Blake method attaches the uppers directly to the sole with a single line of stitching. This allows for a very close-cut sole; since all of the stitching is done inside the walls of the upper, the sole and the upper can have nearly the same width. Because Blake stitching lacks the extra layer of leather found in a Goodyear welted shoe, the Blake stitched shoe will tend to be more flexible and forgiving right out of the box.  Blake stitched footwear can also be resoled, adding years to the life of the shoe.

Why We Need Your Help!

1) Inventory:

We are in need of purchasing ready to wear inventory for our brand. This is where the majority of the funds raised will go. A typical pair of shoes take 4-5 weeks to make and what we want to do is have a collection of popular pre-designed footwear (like standard e-commerce shops) that a customer can order and receive in a timely manner,

This will save us many opportunities for making a sale due to the fact that, in the last two months (since our launch), several individuals have contacted us in “protest” to see whether they can get the footwear they wanted immediately for a close dated event.

Due to that reason we have lost many sales.

Also, our pre-designed collection quantity is very low on our website and that can make any potential customer walk away if the shop is the first thing they do see.

2) Marketing:

In order for us to reach more individuals we need a budget for our strategic approaches. We aim to make Vecchio Medici a respected brand among many. We want to allow others to let their creative juices flow onto their footwear.

Vecchio Medici will aim to market towards users of Instagram, Facebook, and twitter as well as SEO.

Our social media will allow us to approach the younger demographic of fashion aware individuals and since our grand opening two months ago we have sold only through those three social media platforms and it was a very successful approach.

Previous customer with a Belgian slipper designed by him and not to be found anywhere else in the world.

3) Further Development Of Our Custom Platform For Web Access & App

Our application platform will be the same as the our website platform and among further market analysis we have received great feedback as to why we should go ahead and publish the app.

We would like to publish the app for IOS & Android so that we can allow our Vecchio Medici name to be embedded into the phones of our customers in order for them to design their footwear on the go!

Allowing them to do so will give them an idea of what they would like to accomplish for their designs when they want to begin the ordering process.

The app feature will allow them to send their designs to their emails so that they can pull it up on their computers to finish the process, it will also allow them to bring the footwear they designed to life (Virtual Fitting) so that the customer see how the shoes will look on their feet before they order,

Virtual Footwear Fitting

and the app will also allow them to share their designs on social media to get second opinions from friends and family!

4) Packaging!

Due to lack of proper funds Vecchio Medici has not been able to meet the MOQ (minimum order quantity) for receiving private label branding on our boxes, footwear, and dust bags. Our customers since launch have received plain, no logo, packaging.

This is a big hit to our brand due to the fact that once our product is shipped it is nameless and through that surely much presence advertising will be missed and it just is not professional.

Our customers currently receive a blue plain box, plain dust bags, and shoes with no logo and what we wish to accomplish is being consistent with our color scheme, being recognizable with our logo, and being a proud brand for customers to wear and others to see!

 Vecchio Medici’s Synopsis:

Making beautiful, fashionable shoes would have been enough. But integrating all the history, tradition and modern innovations into a philosophy infused with every product would make it divine. Vecchio Medici wants to turn the dial beyond the limits of traditional norms and measurements, throw away all preconceived notions of manufacturing standards, lay the foundations for what true craftsmanship is really about, and serve as a standard other companies should strive for.
Here’s how.
First, its philosophy. Vecchio Medici instills to its core the doctrine of producing only beautiful, top-quality luxury shoes for both men and women that are handcrafted to perfection and elevates their appearance into an art form.
Second, its shoes are made in Spain, and preserves the high traditions of Spanish craftsmanship. It does not manufacture impersonal products made in some offshore factory to boost earnings, but only the carefully constructed classics from Spain.

Third, heritage. The company’s moral compass is its deep passion for its craft and old-fashioned values that never go out of style.

Fourth, technology. While the company is deep-rooted in the practice of its old fashioned values, it is committed to providing its customers the best that the modern day provides as well. This includes blending time-honored techniques with modern materials, methods and tools in producing shoes of unmatched character.

Fifth, a commitment to great looking shoes and quality. The kind of shoes that make its users stand tall. The kind that provides that exceptional degree of strength, comfort and durability, with standards established centuries ago, then perfected with modern tools and technology. All made in a factory that blends timeless tradition with modern aesthetics Sixth and most of all, it wanted that one special ingredient, the special sauce, to its recipe: personality.
Beyond tradition, strength, durability, comfort and quality, there is each handmade item’s personality. It’s not about technology alone, but the kind of personality that can only come from someone or an institution devoted to spreading fine shoes, hand-made to perfection by highly skilled craftsmen whose pride show in the quality of their work and the clear attention to detail without regard to labor intensiveness but only the beautiful story-filled product that emerges.

About The Founder

Hello,

My name is Jawad Malik and I am currently a student at Roosevelt University in Chicago and I am studying Business Administration. All that you see above was written by me.  I have put over 8 months worth of research and started out with $500. I tried another venture before this one that failed miserably, but I took all that I learned and put it into Vecchio Medici.

I am very proud of how far I have come. I have taught myself, in the past 10 months, marketing, SEO, how to build a website, & overall work ethic. BUT with saying all that I have also been privileged with tremendous advice from my environment.

I have never tried kickstarter, but I was recommended it and with every piece of advice I looked further into it! I am looking for the funds for the reasons stated above, but also to bring a new respect to the creative culture that needs more flint. Individuals should be able to express themselves and if I can provide that I will even if it has to start with footwear.

If any of you have some nice or nasty comments for the way my business is run (website, social media, etc) please contact me at vecchiomedici@yahoo.com. I would love to listen and absorb any piece of it.

Thank you for all your support. It means so much to me and I will not disappoint you!

Many regards- Jawad Malik
