Iguaneye freshoe brings Amazonian foot protection back with a cutting-edge minimal, yet modern, sneaker.
“…may be the world’s most minimal shoe” – Fast Company ; “…we definitely commend the brand for going above and beyond in the name of innovation.” – Sneaker Report ; “…we hope he reaches his funding…” – Core77 ; ” Iguaneye have stripped the shoes back to the bare minimum…” – Sneaker Freaker ; “…you can run and walk long distance…” – Shoes-up ; “…a second-skin that perfectly follows your movements…” – Bless this stuff ; ” Nice ! “ – Mocoloco

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Do you remember this amazing advertising in which Carl Lewis was running around with tires stuck under his feet ? This dream of being able to run barefoot on every kind of ground has inspired IGUANEYE to design the freshoe.

Feel the air and still be able to run…

IGUANEYE freshoe is an ultra-minimal foot protection that allows you to move like you want on every kind of ground.

Your feet breathe, freed from the warmth of closed shoes.

Your feet are held, so you can run, jump and do whatever you want…

Your feet are protected, so you can move on rough grounds.

What is so special ?

The main body of the IGUANEYE freshoe is like a second skin : one piece construction, organic design, no glue, no seams. They cling to your feet with a unique heel cup and a special integrated first toe cover (unlike flip-flops, the piece that parts the toes is placed slightly ahead). All sensitive parts of your feet are protected so you feel confident, as if you were wearing conventional shoes.

The shape of the Iguaneye has been designed to perfectly conform to the contours of your foot. The anatomic form has been custom-made by Dulster Design and provides a supportive, secure and extremely comfortable fit. The advanced elastomer used for the main body is soft and very flexible, neutral, hypoallergenic, and 100% recyclable.

The main body is ventilated with lateral channels that constantly use the up and down motion of the foot to bring fresh air in and up through the ventilated insole, which is removable and replaceable.

Our insoles are handmade in Portugal using an innovative technology in which a micro-net is incorporated at the molding stage that allows the cork (98%) to bond with natural latex (2%) and create a flexible, adaptable insole that can adjust to your unique foot impression.

The insole is covered with a soft leather contact surface which further conforms to your foot pad.  This natural dual layer insole not only supports, but cork is a naturally antibacterial material, which absorbs sweat and prevents odors, ensuring both hygiene and comfort.  At  the £50 support level you will receive two insoles, which are useful for switching after a long run or walk.  Change to a fresh pair for casual wear while your first pair regenerates.  Additional insoles will be available through our website, if you ever want to replace or change the color.

Where did this come from ?

We have been working for two years to develop the IGUANEYE freshoe. Sketches, mock-ups, tests, and 3D prototypes…

First we reproduced the Amazonian technique, mentioned in our video, by soaking our feet in latex.

Then we made a lot of sketches.

We gave our first mock-up to dancers and gymnasts to see how they performed under extreme movement.

We then spent a lot of time on a CAD system revising, then revising, and revising some more.

Next, we produced more prototypes, using additive manufacturing, then we revised some more, until we came to this:  The IGUANEYE freshoe, the closest you will ever get to bare feet without sacrificing protection or movement.  But all of our work means nothing without you!

We need you !

The largest challenge with making shoes, is that we have to make moldings and tools for each size. The main body of IGUANEYE freshoe is a complex elastomer injected part, and it needs a specialized mold to be made.  Each size of insole needs a complex press to form and meld the cork and leather.  These types of molds are very expensive.

We have almost completed the process for four sizes, but we need your help to finish all 10 and start our first runs.

What is in it for you ?

15£ = 1 original print (8×12 inches) of our original illustration by Jeanne Detallante. Worldwide free shipping.

25£ = 1 t-shirt with IGUANEYE logo in front and our original illustration by Jeanne Detallante in the back. Size S to 3XL. Worldwide free shipping.

40£ = 1 pair of IGUANEYE freshoes (comes with 1 pair of cork+leather hide insoles – colors to choose from, compose your own version). Worldwide free shipping.

50£ = 1 pair of IGUANEYE freshoes (comes with 1 pair of cork+leather hide insoles – colors to choose from, compose your own version) + 1 extra pairs of insoles. Worldwide free shipping.

Kickstarter Special : Mix your own version

There are four colors for the main body (light grey, blue, purple, anthracite) and four colors for the insoles (blue, orange, green, grey). If our campaign is successful, you will be able to create your own pairing by choosing the colors for both the main body and the insole try out our configurator on our website : http://en.iguaneye.com/html/configurateur.htm

Find your size

The  IGUANEYE freshoe is available in whole European sizes from 36 to 45, and during wear will continue to adapt to your feet.  To make sure that you receive the size that fits you the best, please use our IGUANEYE size validation tool on our website (http://en.iguaneye.com/html/conseils_pointure).

If for some reason when you receive your order, the shoes don’t fit, just send it back, and we will make it right.

We have poured two years into this project and have had a lot of interest, but we need your help to make it happen!  Your support will get you a new pair of shoes, but it will also get you in on the ground floor of an entirely new brand and style of shoe.  Your support is what matters most, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.  We want to hear from you!
