Designed by Michal Kukucha, and in collaboration with Rem D Koolhaas, “Space Kick” is the latest sneaker streetwear trend. With cutting edge prototyping, 3D rendering, and traditional upper making the team has created a collection of chunky sneakers in a variety of colors and styles. The outsole was 3D printed, and the test upper was crafted to visualize the shoe’s proportions. The design evolved into a more geometric, directional look. The designs strike a balance between seasonally relevant colors, staple brand accents, and tones that the new target audience would appreciate. After a positive reception from the men’s demographic, consumers demanded a women’s version. A taller design featuring an opened summer upper and Velcro strap closure was introduced.
