Inspired by the nonprofit “The Shoe That Grows”, redesigned as the most functional, durable, and FUN footwear for your family! Now in stock and shipping!

The traditional footwear model is the same for most every footwear company. Develop loyal customers who will buy a new pair of shoes as often as every 3 to 6 months for kids when they outgrow their current pair or their shoes fall apart. That’s great for the corporate bottom line, not so great for families and landfills. GroFive has been on a relentless pursuit to change this.

Tired of purchasing multiple pairs of shoes per year to keep up with your child’s growing feet? As fellow parents, we are too and we’re thrilled to be finally introducing a labor of love: the only expanding footwear available in the world, EXPANDALS by GroFive. Our affordable footwear is designed to expand 5 sizes along with the fast growth spurts of a child’s foot and proudly, they’re built to last!

Our passion originated almost 10 years ago with our mission to create the best footwear for children living in poverty around the world. Knowing that many families can’t afford a new pair of shoes every time their children outgrow or wear out an existing pair, we created “The Shoe That Grows” – a nonprofit organization that provides footwear in extreme situations that increases 5 sizes and lasts for years.

Through our existing nonprofit organization, nearly 175,000 pairs have been donated to children in almost 100 countries.

And along the way, notes started coming in from families everywhere that wanted to buy our shoes. It took some time, but eventually we were convinced that by making footwear available to you, we could get even more pairs to kids in need around the world.

After years of collaboration with footwear industry experts, designers and manufacturers, we’ve perfected our latest design to ensure the highest quality, durability, and comfort.

We’re now thrilled to provide this groundbreaking concept to you and your family!

Expandals are perfect for growing feet and are also available in adult sizes by popular demand.

Save money with GroFive’s innovative concept, all while helping our mission to provide sustainable and life changing footwear to incredible kids all around the world!

DO THEY REALLY WORK?

Yep! The Expandal expands up to 5 sizes by allowing for adjustment at the toe and heel for length and at the sides for width.

THE AVERGE CHILD WILL OUTGROW 29 PAIRS OF SHOES BETWEEN THE AGES OF 2 – 15!

BUT WILL IT LAST, REALLY?

For the past three years we’ve been testing our growing footwear on real children in real situations on all types of terrain and for extended periods of time – all over the world.

Our teams have been analyzing and optimizing the results. We’ve worked with materials and testing experts to perfect the GroFive design to ensure it will withstand the rigorous play of growing children.

And did we mention that our cofounder Kenton Lee has worn the same pair every day for three years….and going?!

We’ve also perfected GroFive’s design for comfort, knowing that kids can be particular when footwear doesn’t fit or feel just right.

We encourage you to try Expandals for yourself! They’re designed to be functional, durable, comfortable, and FUN!

We’re excited to provide our closest and earliest supporters with the BEST discount possible during our campaign. So instead of simply donating a pair for every pair sold, we’re letting you choose your give-back. As you reserve a pair, consider pledging additional funds to help us get more pairs to children in need. Every additional $15 means another pair produced and distributed locally near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia!

1. Click “Back this Project”: Or select the reward tier you would like to pledge on the right side of the page.

2. Payment: Enter your payment information. Your payment won’t be processed until the very end of this campaign.

3. Size, Color & Shipping Information: Don’t worry about that yet! You will get to select your size and color option and submit your shipping address at the very end of this campaign.

We’re changing the way footwear is designed and built. Our passion started with creating the best footwear in the world for kids that can’t buy a new pair every time they need one. And over the past couple years, many of you have convinced us that by making our sandals available to you, we can deliver the benefits of long lasting footwear while also furthering our mission to get life changing shoes to incredible kids all around the world. By launching this Kickstarter, we’re testing that. Are you interested? Will you help us make this a reality?

We need your help! Your pledge will help us cover the costs of the moulds and tooling to start production. We’ll also have the funds to place the first order. Your support means the world to us.

We started as a couple of simple guys from Idaho who had no business making footwear like this. All we had was an idea and a mission in mind. What followed was dedication, persistence, and a little luck eventually meeting some of the best people in the footwear industry who also got hooked by our idea. Together, we made it a reality.
