Unised International has brought 3D printing inside their classrooms. They are adding this to their curriculum to improve student’s spatial intelligence. 3D printing helps create a 3D CAD (computer-aided design) and its physical object from a digital design. The additive manufacturing process can help a student transform a 2D picture into a 3D model. Material is laid down, layer by layer, to form a three-dimensional object using plastic, resin, or metal. 3D printing also supports kinesthetic learning that helps a child to retain information better by having physical interaction with the concept. It includes physical tasks, so it builds your muscle memory and improves remembrance. This could also end up helping students who are unwilling or ignorant towards studies. 3D printing also serves as an advantage for teachers in saving them time to design their model and explain things. 3D objects reduce the effort required to read 100 pages of a description just to remember or understand something. 3D printing is helping everything from a shoe to a heart become printable. During this pandemic time, several universities and institutions across India have 3D printers to make face shields and ventilator splitters. 3D printers can bring a lot to future education and bring us some future innovators. Hopefully, we’ll see some of these students end up working with 3D printed shoes.
