Last month, Marvel teamed up with Adidas for a series of sneakers inspired by the new Spider-Man 2 video game. Now that players have had some time to sit with the game, another sneaker is coming with a limited number of pairs going on sale.
The Miles Morales “Evolved” suit, which is unlocked following the completion of the mission “Finally Free” inspires the Ultra 4D Mid sneaker. A lighter, lightning blue takes over the 3d-printed sole unit and gives way to actual lightning bolts printed on a red mudguard. Not only does the color scheme match that of the Evolved suit, but Morales actually wears the very sneakers in the game. The white knit upper also features a spiderweb pattern — a detail that makes it stand out even further from the other video game-inspired sneakers — and is constructed from “at least” 50 percent recycled materials.
In addition to featuring in-game and going on sale in real life, the sneaker will also take the form of a digital collectible that can be unlocked beginning Nov. 3 by completing the game’s main storyline.
The first drop of Spider-Man 2 sneakers consisted of the Ultra 4D, Ultraboost J, and Adizero 12.0 football cleat. Like that capsule, the newest Spider-Man footwear will also release alongside accompanying apparel.
The Spider-Man 2 x Adidas Ultra 4D will release Friday, this Friday, Nov. 3, exclusively for members of Adidas‘ free AdiClub program.
